I have been MIA but not on purpose just really busy around here. I had surgery on the 26th and I am happy to say I am alright and I have recuperated just fine. I had a nasty little tumor in my breast and it had to be removed. Thank God it was benign though while waiting for the lab reports I was planning my demise. No kidding. Talk about being a pessimist. Wondering how long I would have left and could I possibly finish all the crosstitch charts I have in my possession. When I got the lab reports I was so relieved. Now I can still continue to add to my evergrowing stash piles and not feel a bit guilty. Priorities!!

A dear friend of mine Melissa, who I am so lucky to know, sent me some wonderful gifts. It was such a nice surprise. She is so talented and an excellent writer. She has a blog if you would like to check it out: http://gulfskye.blogspot.com. She also is an author and writing a wonderful new book that I can't wait to read. She made me a lovely towel with a mermaid on it, she knows I love mermaids and I love red. Its perfect. Then she sent me a knitted wash cloth, I love handmade items like this. So pretty and also made me a fob. What a wonderful surprise for me. Those are the best gifties, surprises from dear friends, knowing that they thought of you and made you something special. ((((Melissa))))

I was in a couple swaps, one in my Lizzie Kate 2 group that I have been a member of for sometime. It was a spring swap, I received a lovely spring time fob from my friend Elaine. Its so pretty and happy looking, such a happy design. She also sent me a little crate filled with embroidered eggs, they are the cutest. They are a big hit around here. They look hand embroidered but Elaine confessed she purchased them, did not make them herself. Thank you, Elaine.

I made her 2 items that I showed in pervious posts, one was a nightlight and the other a Spring biscornu. I sent her some other Spring goodies too but forgot to take pictures of them. It was a really fun swap.

In my Prairie Schooler Yahoo Group we had another swap and I received the most lovely gift from a friend Suzanne. This is just gorgeous and something I have wanted for a long time. Its a needlebox and with the perfect little Prairie Schooler House design on it. Its just sooo pretty. She also sent me a box filled with lovely gifties. Candy, threads, buttons and the sweetest little bird that jingles a bit, a Prairie Schooler card that I don't have. What a wonderful treat it was. Thank you again, Suzanne.

This is what I made for Suzanne. A night light with a Spring Prairie Schooler design on it. I really like the way the design fit perfectly on this nightlight. I hope to make more of these. I also made her a fob, with a spring design on each side of it, one side a lambie and the other side a rabbit. I had so much fun with this swap. I also sent her some Spring goodies.

Its been a very good week for me with swaps.
I have been trying to stitch on 3 different items in 3 hour rotations. So far its been working out and I am really enjoying it. The 3 of my top stitching Priorities right now are my Mystery Sampler, Villages, and Moon Garden. Moon Garden being the smallest will be done first, hopefully within the next week or so, I will replace it with another UFO. Not sure which because I have so many but it will be something that can fit in that slot perfectly. I am up to page 17 on my Mystery Sampler. I got behind in it a little bit. I hope to catch up with it this weekend. Villages I started because I just couldn't wait anymore. I bought the fabric and some of the silks for it and it was calling to me. Stitching with silks on lakeside is so dreamy. The silks slide right through the fabric and give such good coverage too. I will take pictures of everything tomorrow and post them.

Well, its getting late and I have an early morning with my grandchildren. No school tomorrow for Good Friday. My grandson will be home with us. We are going to bake some Easter Sugar cookies tomorrow. I am looking forward to it. I have not made any in awhile. They are pretty easy and very tasty.
Have a good night everybody. xoxox
