Countdown till Christmas

Wow can it really be less then a month till Christmas. Have you all started your shopping?? have you put away your Thanksgiving decorations? When do you put up the tree?

I have started my shopping and having lots of fun doing it. My children are grown but I still like to buy them fun things besides necessity items. This year I will be doing something completely different for Christmas, I will be going to visit my oldest daughter in Virginia. I have never spent Christmas down south with her and her husband so it will be a treat for me. My daughter and I have all sorts of fun things planned, like going to Williamsburgh for one. I can't wait. We always have such good times together. I also will get to spend time with a very dear friend of mine Illeana. We have known each other since we were little and have never got to spend Christmas together. We will this year though. Yippee!!

Today I finished putting away my Thanksgiving decorations and also finished up the last of the turkey. I made 2 turkey pot pies that came out delicious. A very simple recipe from Bisquick and they are yummy and even better, they are easy.

I have started a tiny bit of Christmas decorating, just put a couple little things out. Hope tomorrow to do some more decorating. My granddaughter will be staying home with me tomorrow. She has a cold and a fever this evening. I know she will perk right up when she sees me starting to decorate a bit. I purchased a new memory game for her this evening. One with all sorts of disney characters, so if she is feeling up to it we will play a game or two of it tomorrow. I love how she laughs when she finds 2 of something and when I don't. LOL

I want to share an ornie I made for a friend named Dixie. She made me the most loveliest PS santa pillow that I showed off a few posts ago. Now that she has received mine I can share what I made for her.

Tonight I have been stitching and putting together a couple ornies I made for a swap I am in. I have to make 6. I have 3 stitched and together and working on the 4th. They are to be done by this weekend so you see I have lots of stitching to do this week. I am anxious to share pics of those too.

thank you all for your wonderful notes about my children. You are all so nice to me. God Bless you all.

Well, I better try to get a few more stitches in before I have to hit the hay.

Hugs to all.

That will be wonderful Sharon! And warmer too ;o)

The ornament you made is adorable and a PS one if I'm correct. Where did the pattern come from?

I'm looking forward to seeing some of your latest finishes!

Hi Sharon,

I love the ornament you made for me so much! Its so nicely made I just can't help looking at it over and over again. Its really one of my most cherished Christmas ornaments, and I will always remember you every year when I put it on my tree (if I can even bear to put it away!)

The pictures of your family are wonderful. Your girls look like sweet dolls.

Love from, Dixie
