It has been well over a week since my last post, I have been a busy blogger and a bit of a lazy blogger too.

Our days at the recreation group have been so busy, we did so many fun things with the children. We took them to our local fair, to a water park, we have had so many things going on. Today we had a search and rescue dog come visit us and the officer who is his partner showed his skills off. It was very interesting and so much fun for the children and us counselors.

Last weekend I had the best time ever, my friend Siobhan has come from Ireland to the US to visit family and I drove to Delaware to see her. I stayed there for a weekend and had the best time. I miss her so much, I wish she didn't live so far away. We try to squeeze as much fun into our visit as possible. It was just so great to see her and get to spend some fun time with her. We had a blast. I was so sad to say goodbye. I am already counting the days till her visit next year. I got to see some of her beautiful stitching, we went together to pick some up from the framer. OMG GORGEOUS and she put some other pieces in for framing. Everything was just so beautiful. We bought lots of stash too and that was so much fun.

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?? I was not able to get a very clear picture since the feeder is on a window behind a screen so the picture is not so good. Well, him and his little friends come to eat every day and they are just so pretty. The picture doesn't show what a bright yellow bird he is. We have been so lucky this year getting all sorts of birds that we have never seen before. We do have birdfeeders all over with all sorts of feed. We tried to do this before but a bear got to them and ripped them down. This year we have been lucky so far. Though I know there has been a bear lurking around he has not touched the feeders yet. Guess my garbage is keeping him full for the time being.

Its been a busy fun time for me and the children at Summer Recreation. We had a visit from the fire Department and they treated the children to the WALL OF WATER. The children were so happy and it was on one very hot day last week, so the water was enjoyed by all. It was so much fun that it made the front page of the local newspaper and my grandson is right in that picture. I was thrilled to see him. I bought 6 copies of the paper to share with his parents and my other children.

We have all sorts of fun there, crafts and games everyday. Trips to different places, last week we visited the Firemens museum, next week we are going to a Water Park. Can't wait.
Here is my grandson and his friend relaxing in our Bounce house.

I managed to spend a few hours stitching on my mystery sampler last night and I enjoyed it so much. Its really coming along and I am almost caught up. Almost I said, I have a couple more pages to be caught up. I recently joined in a SAL where we will stitch a Prairie Schooler Wreath. I have my chart and fabric all ready to go and I am so excited. I need to check on the day we are supposed to start I believe its this week. I love stitching anything Christmassy or for Halloween.

I just received a very sweet tuck pillow from Cathy as a thank you gift for sending her some floss for a big project she is working on. Thank you so much Cathey, I love it and I am searching for the perfect project to stitch for it.
I have so many projects in the works but I recently got a very lovely tablecloth as a gift from my daughter Katie, it has lots of pears and strawberries on it and looks lovely on my dining room table. I then remembered my Little House Needleworks thread packs, Pears and another Strawberries, so I have decided to start with Pears and stitch it up into a little hanging pillow for my china hutch. I think it will look great in there and then also make the strawberry one. This is the start of it and I am stitching it on a 18count fabric. Can't' wait to finish it and hang it up.

Here is my tablecloth, we were having a little party the other night and I used it, but I hurried up and folded it up and put it away to keep it nice till my 2 little pillows are stitched.

Good night all and hope you all have a great week, and get lots of stitching done. xoxox

TYE DYE TUESDAY

I work as a counselor for our county in the summer. We do all sorts of activities with the children. We recently did some tyedyeing, we did this last summer too. I had never done this before even though I had lots of friends who had tried it. We had over 100 children tyedying themselves, yes I mean that literally, and shirts too. It was messy but so much fun. I brought along a couple old tshirts to try for my granddaughter and was able to come up with these. Thought I would share them.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!

This is the first rainy day 4th of July that I can remember. Our town parade was cancelled. I am not sure about the fireworks at sundown but it doesn't look like there will be any. Its been pouring out all day and cold too. Feels like an autumn day.
We had a little celebration inside, We had barbecued ribs, potato salad, corn on the cob and I made this jello dessert that I found in a magazine. It was DELICIOUS!
No 4th of July would be complete without watching our favorite movie Yankee Doodle Dandy. Its such a great movie and so full of fun.

Someone can't wait!
