It has been well over a week since my last post, I have been a busy blogger and a bit of a lazy blogger too.

Our days at the recreation group have been so busy, we did so many fun things with the children. We took them to our local fair, to a water park, we have had so many things going on. Today we had a search and rescue dog come visit us and the officer who is his partner showed his skills off. It was very interesting and so much fun for the children and us counselors.

Last weekend I had the best time ever, my friend Siobhan has come from Ireland to the US to visit family and I drove to Delaware to see her. I stayed there for a weekend and had the best time. I miss her so much, I wish she didn't live so far away. We try to squeeze as much fun into our visit as possible. It was just so great to see her and get to spend some fun time with her. We had a blast. I was so sad to say goodbye. I am already counting the days till her visit next year. I got to see some of her beautiful stitching, we went together to pick some up from the framer. OMG GORGEOUS and she put some other pieces in for framing. Everything was just so beautiful. We bought lots of stash too and that was so much fun.

Does anyone know what kind of bird this is?? I was not able to get a very clear picture since the feeder is on a window behind a screen so the picture is not so good. Well, him and his little friends come to eat every day and they are just so pretty. The picture doesn't show what a bright yellow bird he is. We have been so lucky this year getting all sorts of birds that we have never seen before. We do have birdfeeders all over with all sorts of feed. We tried to do this before but a bear got to them and ripped them down. This year we have been lucky so far. Though I know there has been a bear lurking around he has not touched the feeders yet. Guess my garbage is keeping him full for the time being.

I have no idea what kind of bird it is but it is so pretty.

Dont you find it scarey knowing there are bears wandering around just outside your house? I am so glad we dont have to live with creatures like that wondering around in our back yards. I would be scared to go outside!

I am so envious of you and that you got to spend time with Siobhan and see her beautiful stitching. Sounds like you had a great time!

I'd say it's an American Goldfinch :o) I just ran and got my bird book. I love looking them up.

Yes, Pumpkin is correct, Sharon; this is a goldfinch. Oh, it's just beautiful! The only reason I know is because I have a UFO kit with goldfinches in it. I've never seen one in person though. Gorgeous bird! Thanks for sharing! Love ya!

Hi Sharon,
The bird is a male Goldfinch, which are delightful to have visit. They also eat the tops from my Zinnia plants, and they LOVE Thistle (Niger) seed.
