Merry Christmas in July

For some people Christmas season doesn't start till the day after Thanksgiving, not me. Its starts here on July 25th. I officially celebrate the opening of Christmas season then. My Christmas season. Starting now I start to do my shopping, planning, creating etc etc. Its so much fun. Now I know that a lot of people will think thats strange, maybe even think I am crazy, but to them I say BAH HUMBUG! I need as much time to prepare as I can get.

I participated in a Christmas in July Swap and was partnered with Rhonda and she sent me the most wonderful package. I am so thrilled with everything. She made me a lovely apron, its so pretty, and big and roomy. I just love it and can't wait to wear it. She also made me a lovely little quilted basket and matching coasters. They are just so beautiful and so well made. The little basket was full of surprises, 6 different Christmas spools of ribbons. Also stamped Christmas tags, some that look like little shopping bags, so cute, also some beautiful Christmas cards and a crosstitch kit too. What a great swap it was and everything was decorated and wrapped so pretty. Thank you so much, Rhonda, you made my week.

My family does a Christmas in July weekend (the last one in the month). Hence, as I type this, I know the fridge has a selection of wonderful leftovers in it, simply begging to be eaten. We had 40 supper guests on Saturday and a sea food spread for 4 of our 7 children and their partners. I also started my Christmas stitching last week.

What a swap you received! I know what you mean about starting in July. My husband starts the day after Christmas or New Years depending on the sales as we have four small children. Have to go with the sales when ever you can is how we do it!

Oh, what a fun exchange! I love Christmas! I spend the whole year looking for the best gifts for family and friends. I start decorating the week of Thanksgiving and don't take it down until mid January. :-)

hi Sharon,
I am really glad you liked your package. I had fun doing it and got my Christmas Spirit started in the process.

OMG!!! I thought I was the only one in the world who was in the 'holiday spirit' already!! I had posed the question on another Yahoo group that I belong to if anyone had started sneaking a listen to Christmas music and I got a lot more NO's than YES's. But I find music in general to be relaxing and then with working on Christmas projects right now, it really helps to get in the spirit of things and get those projects done!
So...yes...July 25th it is then! I like how you think!

I enjoyed reading your blog. I've added to my list on my blog!

Take care & Happy Stitching!
