Penny Rugs and stitching

Recently I have become attracted to Penny Rugs. I have only seen a few and the ones I have seen I just love. I long to learn how to make them and I think I could do it but just the thought of starting another hobby scares me. I love the pretty colors of wool felt that are available. While visiting my favorite LNS I came across this older pattern from Goode Huswife that I just had to buy. I thought well I can't make a penny rug but I can sure stitch a picture of one. I started this on Monday and have used an entire skein of black floss for it so far. I had this premade pillow and thought it would look great on it. Its more red then the picture shows. I thought I would do all the outline first. I must have thousands of skeins of floss and would you believe I only had that one skein of black. I searched high and low. How could I have no 310. Crazy!! So I had to stock up on it and while I was at it, I also bought some white just in case.

Oh wow! Sharon, this is going to be lovely :o)

That's always the case with floss though. It doesn't matter how much you have, it's always the one you need that's not there ;o) LOL!
